CLAAS launches Arion 400 range

03 Sep, 2010 02:23 PM
The latest CLAAS Harvest Centre officially opened in Feilding on Friday coinciding with the launch of the CLAAS Arion 400 range of tractors.

Branch manager Phil Marsh said Landpower New Zealand had shown real commitment and investment in the new 5000-metre yard and building incorporating four-bay fully functional workshop, parts and sales showroom.

Farmers and contactors now have a fully modernised facility in Feilding, the centre of the agricultural heartland in the Manawatu”

A new down-to-earth four-cylinder tractor range fitting the CLAAS “family values” profile will be launched nationally this month.

CLAAS says it has met the challenge of adapting the technology of its top performance tractors to the requirements of producers with smaller mixed farming enterprises.

The company describes the German design and build 2560mm long wheelbase Arion as encompassing proven technology in a compact, modern design with premium range comfort and ergonomics.

The range’s new sloping single piece bonnet delivers optimum visibility from an operator platform described as the widest and most comfortable in its category.

The big comfort cab has been developed for optimum operator comfort during a long working day - lifting, carrying, towing, mowing, sowing, spraying, tilling or feeding out.

“The new mid-range horsepower Arion series is ideal for small mixed farming operations around the country”

“It’s a family tractor. Family members can all use it productively and safely in a hundred applications”

“This is the ultimate everyday four cylinder tractor. If you feed animals, this is your machine.

“The 2010 range fits the perceived model of what the Volkswagen beetle was to the auto industry for so many decades.”

“The new ARION is strong, simple and ideal for the Australian Farmer.”

The new CLAAS Arion 400 series will include three models:

* Arion 410 – 100hp / 74kW

* Arion 420 – 110hp / 80kW

* Arion 430 – 120hp / 88kW

“The ARION 400 slides between the existing CLAAS AXOS and the ARION 500 range making it the perfect all rounder”

“It’s targeted specifically at the ‘we want value-for-money’ smaller farm business.

“The range is priced extremely well lined up against all the major market competitors.

“Around 90 per cent of Arions sold will go to work on farm as a general utility traction unit matched with a front end loader.”

Each CLAAS Arion features:

* High performance four cylinder engines

* A total of 16 gears at the push of a button

* Highest torque figures in its class

* Maximum output 95-125 hp / 70-90kW

* QUADRISHIFT powershift transmission

* Maximum hydraulic flow 98 litres a minute

* 4 Speed PTO for optimum flexibility

* The widest cab on the market

“With four powershift ranges and four powershift splits, you can optimally match the speed of the ARION 400 to the conditions on the ground,”

“On the road or around the farm, the operator can comfortably use any one of four ranges without having to touch the clutch,” he says.

The CLAAS Arion range is being be launched at CLAAS Harvest Centres Central Districts next week.
